Respiratory Therapy Clinical Manager - Transport Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital

Join our Transport team as a Respiratory Therapy Clinical Manager and lead clinical and administrative operations that ensure safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care. In this role, you will provide expert guidance to respiratory therapists, nurses, and physicians; manage day-to-day operations; and cultivate a culture of teamwork, compassion, and innovation. You will serve as a clinical and technical resource across respiratory care modalities and equipment, support multidisciplinary rounds and care planning, and drive quality, patient experience, and efficiency initiatives.

Summary:



  • Lead daily Transport respiratory operations, including staffing, scheduling, and time/attendance oversight.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, evaluate, and develop team members; recognize performance and address disciplinary needs as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interprofessional teams to deliver evidence-based care, participate in rounds, and support development of clinical pathways.
  • Monitor compliance with standards through observation, audits, and documentation; provide feedback, education, and coaching to improve outcomes.
  • Ensure regulatory and institutional compliance; uphold Johns Hopkins Medicine standards and Maryland Board of Physicians requirements.
  • Serve as the clinical/technical resource for invasive and noninvasive ventilation, airway management, and transport-specific equipment; perform skillfully in emergencies and crisis situations.
  • Partner on budgeting, workload forecasting, and cost-reduction/efficiency initiatives while maintaining quality and patient safety.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance patient/family experience and staff satisfaction; maintain a supportive, high-performing work environment.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Current Florida Respiratory Therapist licensure.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC); Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) preferred/required per department needs.
  • Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible respiratory care experience, including pediatric/neonatal critical care.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory/management role.
  • Current BLS and PALS (American Heart Association).
  • Demonstrated expertise with pediatric airway management and transport-related respiratory equipment (mechanical ventilators, home vents, BiPAP, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills; proven ability to mentor teams and drive quality improvement.

Salary Range: Minimum 40.78/hour - Maximum 65.24/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
