Network / System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Middleware Administrator for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ, Jacksonville, FL and Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves providing end-to-end middleware administration for online banking and eCommerce platforms, ensuring production stability and performance. The ideal candidate will deliver on enterprise projects, manage platform patching, and support application teams through the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities:

• Provide middleware administration duties for platforms including WebLogic, WebSphere, Jboss, Tomcat, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and WXS
• Deliver middleware enterprise projects and regulatory legislative initiatives
• Ensure production stability from an ongoing support standpoint and ensure middleware platforms are patched with the most current version of software
• Provide Middleware Application Server administration that includes server installation, configuration, performance tuning and production support
• Support and conduct production change management duties
• Work with application and testing teams on a daily basis to provide Middleware and Java support
• Design Middleware infrastructure and topology for high availability and failover capability
• Interface with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the SDLC
• Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent field experience
• 5+ years of experience as an Information Technology professional
• At least 3 years supporting WebLogic, Jboss, Tomcat, IBM HTTP Server, Apache, and similar Middleware products
• Administration experience with WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, IBMHttpServer, Tomcat, and Apache
• Knowledge of shell, jython and Perl scripting
• Expertise with Ansible
• Java/Container framework knowledge and J2EE experience at the large-scale enterprise system level
• Experience with infrastructure, application performance, and customer experience tools using Netcool, ITM, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, and SiteScope
• Understanding of web application communication protocols such as SOAP, HTTP, XML
• Excellent knowledge of core network services (DNS, SMTP, NTP, syslog, HTTP)
• Working knowledge of application setup, support, and configuration on Linux operating systems
• Strong analytical, multitasking and prioritization skills
• Willing and able to work in a 24x7 environment including after hours and weekend support

Desired skills:

• Bladelogic toolset expertise
• Expertise with AppDynamics and DynaTrace
• BMC Remedy ITSM tool experience

Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
