Senior Finance Program/Project Manager
Location:Onsite, San Jose, CA
Duration:12-month contract, full-time (40 hours/week)
Pay rate:95-100/hour (depending on experience) The Senior Finance Program/Project Manager will lead complex, cross-functional Finance transformation initiatives that modernize enterprise Finance processes, systems, and ways of working. This role owns end-to-end program delivery and process-driven initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and adoption across a large, matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic Finance transformation programs and end-to-end project delivery from definition through execution, adoption, and value realization.
Partner with executive sponsors and Finance leadership to define scope, success metrics, timelines, resourcing, and governance.
Apply structured program and project management practices to plan, execute, monitor, and de-risk multi-phase initiatives.
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues; escalate as needed.
Lead process initiatives within Finance, including defining scope, success measures, and improvement opportunities.
Establish and monitor KPIs to track delivery progress, process performance, and business impact.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure alignment and accountability.
Facilitate cross-functional process reviews and continuous improvement efforts to reduce pain points.
Drive change management activities, including communication, training, UAT coordination, and operational readiness.
Communicate status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in finance transformation, program/project management, or process-driven initiatives.
Proven track record leading large, cross-functional programs with measurable results.
Experience driving process improvement and operational change within Finance.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred (Green Belt considered with strong leadership experience).
PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
Strong experience with enterprise Finance systems and reporting/analytics platforms; SAP S/4HANA experience strongly preferred.
Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels in a matrixed environment and influence senior stakeholders.
