Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Step into the world of cutting-edge medical research as a Research Assistant within the prestigious Boston Adult Congenital Heart (BACH) Program. This role is perfect for a passionate recent graduate looking to launch a career in healthcare research. You will coordinate projects that delve into the outcomes of adults with congenital heart disease, collaborating with a team of nine renowned cardiologists. Your work will make a significant impact, including managing a prospective registry for women with heart disease during pregnancy and contributing to multicenter registries. Your responsibilities will involve patient enrollment for innovative research protocols. These include but are not limited to: Standardized Outcomes in Reproductive Cardiovascular Care (STORCC) and RESIStance to Aspirin and bioprosthetic valve degeneration in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease (RESIST ACHD).
This two-year position (preferred) is designed to arm you with invaluable skills and experience, paving the way for a successful career in medicine. You'll have the unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact clinical research and even be part of publishing manuscripts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient enrollment for innovative research protocols.
  • Develop and refine research protocols and contribute to grant submissions alongside leading investigators; Prepare, submit, and amend applications for scientific review and IRB approval.
  • Database management with tools like REDCAP, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Identifying eligible subjects and enrolling subjects in current protocols, in addition to keeping the databases current with regular updates.
  • Collaborate with the statistical team to address data inquiries.
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and deliver engaging PowerPoint presentations.
  • Participate in team meetings, take part in agenda creation, and provide crucial summaries.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in STEM or Psychology is required.

Experience:
  • Exceptional writing abilities complemented by strong research skills.
  • A successful candidate will be a self-starter capable of working independently and with stellar organizational skills. Experience in clinical research and IRB preparation is a plus.
  • Prior experience conducting clinical or basic research is preferred but not required. Knowledge of tools like PubMed, Microsoft Office, Endnote, and statistical software such as REDCAP or SPSS is a plus.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
