Pay

Salaried grade 6
$68,866 to $77,777 / year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Plus 4% shift premium for 2nd shift

Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Transportation Operations Supervisor to join our Transportation team. This role is critical in supporting our long-haul driver operations during second shift, ensuring seamless execution, strong communication, and consistent leadership aligned with McKee Foods' values and safety standards.

The Transportation Operations Supervisor will lead approximately 45 long-haul drivers, providing day-to-day operational oversight while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism. This position serves as a central point of coordination-ensuring smooth shift transitions, resolving operational challenges, and maintaining strong partnerships with drivers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and support to long-haul drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations
  • Oversee dispatch activities and monitor driver performance throughout the shift, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for second shift operations, proactively resolving issues and coordinating with Maintenance, Logistics, Safety, and other internal teams
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of operational activities, communications, and driver interactions
  • Reinforce company policies and expectations, promoting high standards in safety, service, and professionalism
  • Maintain a visible, engaged on-site presence to support both planned operations and real-time problem solving

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 3-4 years of experience in a related transportation or operations role
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills with experience managing or supporting frontline staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and support employees of varied backgrounds
  • Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations and respond quickly to operational disruptions
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication and documentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support the operation
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal safety, team safety, and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional in Supply Chain (CPSM) certificate
  • Previous experience in a transportation supervisory role at McKee Foods or similar environment
  • Familiarity with McKee systems including Workday, MyDispatch, PRPD, and XRS
  • Experience in McKee Foods long-haul delivery operations or dispatch
