About the Role
We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our chemical processing team on the 2nd Shift at our Elk Mills 1 facility. You will be responsible for producing chemicals in a fast-paced environment which will require coordination with a wide range of functions to ensure success. Standard hours will be 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Monday through Friday with some flexibility required. This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland. Pay and Benefits:
- $23 - $33 per hour
- This role is eligible for an additional $2/hr shift differential pay for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities
- Setting up, operating, trouble shooting, maintaining, and cleaning large and small scale batch chemical mixers and complex process equipment
- Practicing and advocating safety policies
- Following work instructions, procedure guidelines, and other elements of the quality system
- Performing detailed and accurate record keeping in a timely manner
- Working independently and interacting and communicating with a close knit cross functional team, including shop associates, process/quality engineers, and new-product-development associates
- Learning, practicing, and supporting the Gore culture
- Delivering and receiving objective feedback
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years manufacturing experience operating and troubleshooting complex machinery, and able to demonstrate a high level of mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to learn and execute detailed manufacturing processes and follow written instructions
- Basic computer and mathematical skills with the ability to learn more advanced computer applications
- Experience with multitasking and balancing multiple priorities to solve problems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Willingness to participate in the Pulmonary Sensitizer Medical Surveillance program (must meet medical qualifications for wearing a supplied airhood)
- Must be able to routinely lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds and be trained for forklift operation
- Able to train on first shift (5:45 A.M. to 2:15 P.M.) for 3 to 5 months
- Ability to travel up to 5%
