Job Description

The Project Manager will work in the Design Services Department within Technical Services and in collaboration with other Vanir Departments, Areas and staff in project planning and programming, design, design review, and BIM applications. This person will report to the Director of Design Services and will support each of the Vanir geographic areas across the country for a variety of clients and project types primarily within the public sector.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated, self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team. This position requires someone who is proactive and resourceful with a high level of responsiveness, and skilled in verbal, written and graphic communications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Work collaboratively with project management and support services teams (scheduling, estimating, and constructability review)
  • Participates in preliminary design activities including but not limited to: master planning, predesign, concept design, prototypical design element development, project concept definition, needs assessments, planning and space programming, feasibility studies, test fits, and facility condition assessment
  • Participates in the production of programming design documentation, presentation creation, and construction documentation as required
  • Creates written narratives, graphic exhibits, and renderings for presentations and reports
  • Create and/or review BIM execution plans, BIM standards for various agencies, project set up, or drafting. Perform quality reviews on BIM models and clash detection
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate AI tools as they relate to design and construction
  • Design document quality control and constructability reviews for design, code, and document completeness, clarity, coordination, or compliance with owner requirements
  • Participates in client and company meetings including creation of meeting agenda, presentation, and meeting minutes
  • Create final reports including graphics, tables, charts, and written narratives
  • Participates in creation or review of Owner Project Requirements or Criteria Documents for design-build delivery
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related degree is preferred
  • Technical understanding of design and construction including: design and construction documents, building codes and ADA requirements, construction materials and detailing, value engineering, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and construction delivery models
  • Experience in all phases of design including planning and concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, and MS Software
  • 7-9 Years experience in A/E industry; preference for applicants with well rounded experience having worked in all phases of design (programming through construction administration)
  • Public and commercial work experience preferred
