The Opportunity
The Inside Sales Manager leads a team of Inside Sales Representatives responsible for executing RFQ-to-Invoice activities in support of complex B2B energy solutions across power transmission, distribution, and related markets. This role balances people leadership, operational execution, and cross-functional coordination, ensuring consistent service levels, order accuracy, and a strong customer experience.
This is a hands-on player/coach role ideal for a people manager who thrives in a fast-paced, transactional environment and is passionate about driving consistency, accountability, and customer satisfaction.
How You'll Make an Impact
Leadership & Team Development
- Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of Inside Sales Representatives, setting clear expectations for customer support, order management, responsiveness, and quality.
- Establish and reinforce daily, weekly, and monthly operating rhythms (e.g., huddles, order reviews, performance check-ins).
- Drive a performance culture focused on accountability, cycle time, order accuracy, data quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing skills development for Inside Sales team members.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and performance coaching aligned with individual development plans.

Operational Execution
- Oversee day-to-day Inside Sales activities including quotation support, order entry, order tracking, change orders, and invoice support.
- Ensure disciplined execution of standardized Quote-to-Order-to-Invoice processes using Salesforce (SFDC), SAP, and related tools.
- Monitor workload distribution and prioritize activities to meet customer commitments and internal SLAs.
- Remove obstacles impacting order flow, accuracy, or cycle time.
- Partner with Business Units, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to resolve order and delivery issues.
Customer Experience
- Ensure consistent, professional, and proactive communication with customers throughout the order lifecycle.
- Serve as an escalation point for customer issues, coordinating timely cross-functional resolution.
- Support customer-specific reporting requirements such as open order and backlog reporting.
- Reinforce a customer-centric mindset focused on responsiveness, accuracy, and follow-through.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate closely with Account Managers, Sales leadership, Tendering, Contract Management, and Customer Master Data teams.
- Review operational performance metrics and dashboards to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Drive adoption of new tools, processes, and reporting standards.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, data quality, and customer experience.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Inside Sales, Sales Operations, Order Management, or customer support in a complex B2B environment.
- 2+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of Quote-to-Order-to-Invoice processes.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce (SFDC) and SAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with operational KPIs such as cycle time, order accuracy, and backlog health.
- Demonstrated success driving process discipline and continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting sales teams in a matrixed organization.
Travel: Limited travel may be required (generally less than 10%).
