THE POSITION

Join our Organization Management (OM) team and kickstart your human resource career with a 12-month hands-on training program designed to build expertise in position classification and related services. As an Organization Management Trainee, you will have the opportunity to assist higher level HR professionals with classification and organization management assignments designed to develop proficiency in delivering OM services to client agencies. Upon successful completion of this 12-month training period, you will be promoted to a Human Resource Analyst 1. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Organization Management Trainee, you will actively participate in an on-the-job training program where you will develop OM competencies. This includes determining the most appropriate job classification of filled and vacant positions, evaluating temporary working out-of-classification and change supervisor requests, analyzing agency reorganization requests, and providing position description consultative support and related organization management services. Work involves participating in training-level assignments to review position and organization information, conduct research, interview employees and supervisors, and prepare detailed analysis reports that include classification and pay determinations. Additionally, with guidance from supervisors and/or higher-level analysts, you will learn to evaluate programs and operations in assigned state agencies to identify organization management needs and explore options with and deliver solutions to customers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Work schedule may be negotiable within the organization's business hours.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
