The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for managing and mentoring the stock control team in the receipt, storage, and handling of a diverse range of materials to support the manufacture of electronic and mechanical systems. This individual maintains initiatives in the areas of employee development, and identifies, recommends and/or executes continuous improvement opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: * Regularly review and communicate department performance in attaining goals, measuring performance, and delivering on established corporate metrics. * Develop and maintain a skilled workforce through timely coaching and feedback, cross-training, and employee development. * Maintain a sound organizational development plan by establishing policies to drive retention, attract top talent and ensure adequate development of future leaders through succession planning and training initiatives. * Develop, implement and execute on strategic plans and financial goals across the operational landscape to meet deliverables and drive continuous improvement. Position Responsibilities: * Create and maintain a skilled workforce through timely coaching and feedback, cross-training, and employee development. Identify training and personal development action plans. Resolve personnel issues in a timely, effective manner and in accordance with Sechan values expectations. Serves as a role model for values implementation and reinforcement. * Recommends and/or executes processes and projects which support or enhance the company's inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs, generating savings, rationalizing inventory and maximizing available working capital. * Develops an Understanding of industry best practices relating to Inventory Control processes. * Manage and maintain the company's material and stocked product inventory to sufficiently support production and goals of the business * Maintain a manufacturing and stock control environment that consistently meets the product and facility requirements of ISO900 and AS9100 standards. * Leads, supports or sponsors Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives. * Perform regular physical assessments of the stockroom and warehouse areas and implement improvement processes and systems to reduce/minimize costs and maximize working capital. * Create, manage, and maintain written procedures for all main inventory control processes and functions. * Ensure that stockroom operations functions are in alignment with the company's mission and strategic goals. * Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization. Skills & Abilities: * Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a participative, team management approach embracing organizational empowerment. * Have a detailed understanding of MRP/ERP and inventory control / management systems. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Commitment to learn or experience with lean manufacturing, kanban and kaizen continuous improvement or similar tools within a manufacturing facility. * Good interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with a diverse workforce and interface with all levels of the organization. * Possess excellent personal organization and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods. * Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality. * Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt. * Possess relevant IT skills in basic MS Office applications - outlook, excel & word. Qualifications: * BS/BA in Business, or equivalent relevant experience in a related field. * 5+ years of experience in managing a warehouse/stockroom function. * Lean Certification or demonstrated progress towards achieving certification. Work Environment: * Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus * 9/80 work schedule. * Occasional travel may be required. * Office located in Lititz, PA, with occasional visited to Lancaster facility. | |
