Job Title: Technology Research Analyst (A/V - Audio & Video)

Location: Columbia, SC (Onsite)

Duration: 12 months


C2 Eligibility required

Duties:

  • Reviews, tests, and accepts software and hardware as it relates to all supported technologies in the company's environment. Researches and tests both new products and problem resolutions. Manages and maintains an in-depth pool of technical advice and expertise to provide information and guidance of the infrastructure assigned.
  • 50% Research and stay abreast of all information that may impact the lifecycle of any supported technology or product. Reviews and recommends all new hardware and software that applies to supported technologies in the BCBSSC environment. Participates in the analysis of the requirements for the enterprise and applying emerging technologies to support long-term business objectives. Assists with various related projects.
  • 40% Responsible for testing, product review and research as well as documentation efforts. Ensures complete review of products that can fulfill the customer's business needs and that mitigate risks associated security vulnerabilities.
  • 10% Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and open communication with vendors, operations, architecture, and management staff.



Day to Day:

  • This position will assist our primary A/V Analyst with installations, operational support, and maintenance for all equipment in our environment.



Work Environment:

  • Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.



Team:

We have a sub team of 20 members of the greater team of 70 for all of Workstation Support. We have many tenured techs some with over 20 years at BlueCross and that shows our people enjoy this company, environment, and the work we do. We work well together and are focused on our customers.

Line of Business: Workstation Support / Corporate & Commercial Support

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of a variety of information technology products and solutions.
  • Strong research, customer service, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail. Good judgment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the IT organization.



Required Technologies:

  • Video chat, Audio & Visual support of Crestron & Extron devices
  • Crestron
  • Extron
  • Microsoft Teams rooms
  • Audio & Video Installation experience



Required Software and Other Tools:

  • Microsoft Office.
  • Software and tools will vary based on the technologies supported.



Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree



Required Work Experience:

  • 2 Years of specific knowledge of the technology(s) or product(s) to be supported including 1 year directly supporting the technology(s) or product(s).



Soft skills:

  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Customer service and communication are the biggest skills needed in this role since we directly work with keeping users productive.
