We are searching for a talented Patient Intake Coordinator - Oncology

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Location: Cancer Center - Fairhaven, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Under general supervision of Director, Oncology Operations or Designee, perform a variety of duties to facilitate the patient*s access to the SCCC Medical and Radiation Oncology sites including but not limited to: conduct registration interview with patients and/or family member or referring physician*s office; pre-register all new oncology consult appointments. Verify patient*s insurance information and coverage eligibility.
  • Equal to completion of four years high school plus additional specialized courses or training required.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, working knowledge of medical terminology, exceptional attention to detail, customer service focus with excellent telephone skills/etiquette required.
  • Must possess strong reasoning and critical thinking skills.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, etc. is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a fast paced healthcare environment is required.
  • Experience in an oncology practice environment and with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
