Job Summary
|
The primary objective of the RTR Finance Services Tax Manager is to provide subject matter expertise and leadership to a team that analyzes bottler financial data and prepares multi-state operational tax returns in accordance with bottler policies and tax law requirements; tax types include Sales/Use, Property Tax, Unclaimed Property, Business License, Fleet Tax, and Mandatory Deposits. This position performs tax statute research, communicates with taxing authorities and bottler Finance leadership, and provides insight on strategies to minimize audit payments and exposure issues. This position actively partners with other functional groups within Coca-Cola Bottler Sales & Services, as well as with the offshore partner, to provide tax training, guidance, assistance and support. Providing excellent customer service to bottler clients, facilitating open communication, and contributing to a positive team environment. In addition, this position will be depended on to identify and help implement process improvements, new technology, and develop/share best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities
|
- Research tax statutes and transaction taxability; guide bottler and Finance leadership on tax matters and risk mitigation strategies
- Review and oversee preparation of multi-state tax filings, including:
- Analyzing financial and operational data supporting return filings to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Processing payments to taxing authorities and recording appropriate financial entries
- Serve as a subject matter expert in tax software (Vertex, OPT, TrackerPro, License HQ), including troubleshooting issues, coordinating with vendors, and identifying discrepancies
- Provide operational oversight, including support for return preparation, tax compliance inquiries, reconciliations, month-end close, and ongoing team training
- Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance compliance and efficiency
- Review and oversee accounting support activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reporting, including balance sheet narratives, tax analysis, and exposure reporting
- Collaborate with internal functional teams to ensure processes support accurate tax reporting and financial impact
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including bottler clients, internal teams, and taxing authorities
- Support the development and maintenance of procedures and internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Provide operational support to the FSM III Tax Compliance & Accounting Sr. Manager, including oversight of:
- 65 balance sheet reconciliations (monthly)
- 970 multi-state tax returns (annually)
- 1,000 property and real estate tax returns
- 2,300+ property tax assessments and bills
- 880 business licenses (annually)
- 14,000+ unclaimed property transactions (annually)

This is a teleworking role that requires working at a CCBSS office location on a regular basis (or a minimum number of days per month or week) at the manager's discretion.
