As a Principal Data Analyst (Service), you will be a senior analytical contributor who partners closely with the Service Excellence team, service business leaders across four commercial divisions representing $1.7B in service revenue, and cross-functional stakeholders. You will bring deep analytical expertise in service business domains, operate with a high degree of independence, and deliver insights that drive strategic decision-making for revenue growth, margin expansion, and operational excellence initiatives targeting $200M+ in EBIT improvement.

Role Overview

The Principal Data Analyst (Service) translates complex service business data into actionable insights, recommendations, and strategic guidance. This role focuses on analysis, visualization, and storytelling that enables leaders to make better decisions about capacity optimization, margin improvement, revenue growth, and operational performance. You will be a key problem solver for complex analytical challenges and a trusted partner to business stakeholders driving service transformation.



Responsibilities

Analytics & Insights

    Conduct deep analytical work across service delivery data (work orders, cases, products, geography), service team member data (roles, locations, workloads), service revenue and cost data, and proforma P&L information to identify opportunities for margin expansion, revenue growth, and operational improvement
  • Develop analytical models that support capacity optimization, workforce planning, pricing analysis, margin improvement, and business case development for transformation initiatives
  • Partner with Service Excellence leaders and initiative owners to define analytical requirements, frame business questions, and translate findings into strategic recommendations
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in service business performance that inform strategic priorities and course corrections

Visualization & Communication

  • Design and build executive-level dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate complex analytical findings to CEO, SVP, and Board audiences
  • Translate technical analysis into compelling business narratives that drive decision-making and action
  • Create self-service analytical tools and dashboards that enable service leaders to monitor performance, track KPIs, and identify opportunities independently

Business Partnership

  • Partner with Finance Business Partners to support proforma P&L modeling, business case validation, and value realization tracking
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure analytical requirements inform data platform design and that data quality meets analytical needs
  • Work with service business leaders to understand operational context, validate analytical assumptions, and ensure insights are actionable within operational constraints
  • Support M&A integration by providing analytical insights that inform integration planning, identify synergy opportunities, and track integration performance


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, plus 8+ years of relevant industry experience, or equivalent practical experience
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools (Python, R, or similar)
  • Expert-level proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tools (Celonis, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Proven experience conducting complex business analysis and translating findings into strategic recommendations
  • Strong service business domain knowledge with understanding of service delivery operations, work order management, service revenue and cost structures, capacity planning, and workforce optimization
  • Experience with financial analysis including P&L modeling, margin analysis, and business case development
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with ability to present complex analytical findings to executive audiences
  • Experience mentoring peers and contributing to analytical best practices within a team environment
  • Demonstrated drive, curiosity, humility, and ability to learn

Nice-to-Have / Plus Qualifications

  • Familiarity with process mining platforms such as Celonis and process analytics methodologies
  • Experience with enterprise systems data including Salesforce, ServiceMax, SAP ERP, RingCentral, or Genesys
  • Experience with statistical modeling, forecasting, or machine learning applications in business contexts
  • Experience supporting M&A integration or complex organizational change initiatives
  • Experience in global organizations with complex service delivery models across multiple business units
