Position Summary
Under the direction of the VP, Chief Pharmacy & Therapeutics Officer, the Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer (ACPO) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for clinical pharmacy programs and pharmacy operations at Boston Children's Hospital. This role advances clinical excellence, medication safety, and quality outcomes across the enterprise while ensuring value and return on investment. The ACPO translates organizational priorities into departmental strategy, develops actionable plans and leads execution of both short- and long-term initiatives. This leader oversees multiple pharmacy service lines, drives continuous improvement in the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications, and strengthens the department's clinical, academic, and research missions. A central responsibility of this role is building a strong, cohesive pharmacy leadership team. The ACPO promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth; mentors emerging leaders; and ensures the department has the leadership capacity to support current and future needs. Additional responsibilities include leading pharmacy automation and facility planning initiatives, managing financial and human resources, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and certification standards. The ACPO serves as Acting Chief Pharmacy Officer as needed and champions a high-performing workforce aligned with the hospital's mission and values. Key Responsibilities
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
