Job Summary
We are seeking motivated Data Center Technicians and aspiring Leads to support the installation, testing, and maintenance of structured cabling and fiber infrastructure on commercial and government projects. This role is open to entry-level candidates with 0 years of direct data center experience, particularly those with backgrounds in skilled trades or construction who are looking to transition into a technical career. The position involves hands-on work with fiber and copper systems, with opportunities to develop leadership skills, coordinate teams, and grow into Lead roles. Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. Job Responsibilities
Assist with cable infrastructure and fiber rough-in installation
Perform cable management, including dressing and labeling
Support termination of copper (Cat 5 and Cat 6) and fiber cabling
Learn and assist with ribbon and fusion splicing techniques
Operate and maintain basic fiber testing and installation equipment
Assist with installation of single mode and multi-mode fiber systems and connectors (ST, LC, SC, SC-APC, etc.)
Support testing activities, including Fluke and OTDR testing
Identify and report issues with fiber and copper cabling systems
Assist with rack and stack of equipment and server rack build-outs
Install infrastructure components such as fiber trays, ladder racks, cabinets, and cable management systems
Receive materials and assist with hardware assembly
Follow blueprints and installation plans under supervision
Maintain a clean and safe job site in compliance with safety standards and proper use of PPE
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Support team coordination and task completion under guidance from Leads
Assist with organizing materials and tracking project progress
Participate in safety meetings and adhere to job site protocols
Learn basic project coordination and team leadership responsibilities
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalency
0+ years of experience; candidates with backgrounds in construction, electrical work, or other skilled trades are encouraged to apply
Willingness to learn structured cabling, fiber installation, and data center operations
Ability to follow instructions, read basic diagrams, and learn blueprint interpretation
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Basic familiarity with hand tools and willingness to use them regularly
OSHA 10 certification preferred but not required
Physical ability to work on ladders or lifts, in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds
Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
