Position Description and Purpose:

Key Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Food Safety: The Sanitation Supervisor shall support all elements of food safety within the plant. The Sanitation Supervisor shall report any/all food safety concerns to the Sanitation Manager or the Senior Sanitation Manager.
  • Tasking: The Sanitation Supervisor shall be responsible for assisting in tasking the master cleaning schedule tasks in addition to the normal daily tasking. The Sanitation Supervisor shall be knowledgeable in how to properly log work completed in the master sanitation schedule. Daily tasks include but are not limited to: effectively complete tasks assigned and supervise the completion of sanitation subordinate tasking; supervise the sanitation and production teams and engage in cleaning and sanitizing events; assist in the development of cleaning crews as well as sanitation staff members through On-The-Job training; ensure the proper verification of cleaning and sanitization events through physical inspection, proper completion of documentation and conducting of ATP swabbing; assist in completion of all cleaning validations and sanitation validations
  • Cleaners & Materials; The Sanitation Supervisor shall be responsible for ensuring that all cleaners are used as set forth in the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Chemical Testing: All bulk cleaning chemicals used in the facility must be diluted. Material used to test the proper dilutions of said chemicals will be provided by the chemical manufacturer and the use of said test materials will be controlled by the Plant Sanitation Manager. The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all bulk chemicals are being dispensed at the proper dilution and that the equipment is functioning properly. All sanitizer dilution will be checked daily and results documented. The Sanitation Supervisor will inform the Sanitation Manager of any malfunctions immediately.
  • Line Clean-up and Inspection; The Sanitation Supervisor will be asked to support

line clean-ups. Therefore, they must be knowledgeable in how to properly inspect line

equipment. They must also be knowledgeable in the definitions and what is involved for changeovers, shutdowns, start-ups, periodicals, 100% organic, 100% wash, 100% allergen and kosher clean-ups.

  • Training and Development: The Sanitation Supervisor must facilitate the training and development of new team members to the Sanitation group.
  • Standard Operating Procedure Management (SOP): Help create, update, maintain SOP's for Sanitation
  • Sanitation Management System: The Sanitation Supervisor will share any discrepancies with the SMS to the Sanitation management. These discrepancies include but are not limited to.
    • HACCP Programs
    • Allergen Programs
    • Cleaning Matrix
    • GMP Findings
    • Foreign Material Findings
    • Hold Procedures
    • Pest Control Programs
    • Janitorial Programs
    • Environmental Programs
    • Safety Programs
    • Waste Disposal Programs
    • Sanitation Programs
  • Assist with cleaning requirements of the facility and other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Basic Math and Reasoning skills
  • People and Team Leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of sanitation practices and programs
  • 2+ years of food industry sanitation systems management preferred
  • Understand allergens and microbiological
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement
  • Strong project management and planning skills required
