Description Job Title: Non-Conformity Cell Quality Technician Location: Plattsburgh, NY Employment Type: 6-month contract with possible opportunity of extension or permanent hire Industry: Transportation Manufacturing Compensation: $28/hour Schedule: M-F, Day Shift About the Opportunity: You will be at the center of quality issue management - investigating defects, securing production lines, and coordinating containment and rework with suppliers and internal teams. You'll manage non-conformity reporting, track key quality metrics, and help ensure production continues with compliant parts. APPLY TODAY What You'll Do: Investigate and characterize defects in purchased parts and initiate non-conformity reports (NCRs). Secure the production line by identifying, isolating, and blocking non-conforming parts. Coordinate containment, sorting, and rework activities with internal teams and suppliers. Ensure timely re-feeding of compliant parts to the production line to minimize disruptions. Create, manage, and communicate NCRs through ERP systems and the Supplier Quality Portal. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders through daily and weekly operational meetings. Monitor and report key quality KPIs related to non-conformities, containment, and supplier response. Manage supplier follow-up actions and rework to resolve quality issues. Support safety compliance and proper use of manufacturing equipment. Contribute to continuous improvement of the non-conformity management process. Job Requirements What You'll Bring: High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or non-conformity management Minimum of 2 years' experience in Non-Conformity Report processes, containment actions, and root-cause documentation Minimum of 2 years' experience utilizing ERP systems and supplier quality portals for inspections and reporting What Sets You Apart: Attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills Problem-solving skills Experience within the railway or transportation industry Familiarity with manufacturing safety guidelines and procedures Additional Information: Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
