Job Overview: The RWJBarnabas Health New Graduate RN Residency Program is a one-year program that provides new graduate RN's with a safe, caring, supportive and robust learning environment. Our goal is to allow new graduate nurses the opportunity to gain additional clinical competencies to achieve a stress-free transition from student to professional practice. Highlights of our program include:

• Preceptor and new nurse relationship-guided transition support.
• Continuing education and ongoing enhancement of professional development.
• Specialty-specific foundation courses were developed to reflect the scope and standards of practice.
• Application of professional accountability and ethical practice inherent in the role of the registered nurse.
• Recognition of the effects of skilled nursing practice on patient safety, quality and satisfaction.
• Self-care focus, to maintain a safe and fulfilling nursing practice, for both the nurse and patient.
• Mentorship to support the new graduate nurse through their first year of practice and beyond.
• New graduates are hired in the area of specialty to enhance their specialty education experience from day one.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full Time
• 36 Hours Per Week
• Night Shift
• 7p-7:30a
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey RN License or pending RN license (with completed NCLEX exam) required
• New Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with less than 6 months of RN experience is required
• ASN or BSN required
• AHA BLS prior to start date required
• Career interest in Med/Surg, Cardiac Care and/or Telemetry specialties highly preferred
