Scanning Operator Technician - Medical Imaging / Pathology Digitization (Temp Role)

Location: Silver Spring, MD

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Scanning Operator Technician to support high-volume medical imaging and pathology slide digitization operations at a customer site in Silver Spring, MD. This is a hands-on technical role ideal for candidates with strong attention to detail, basic medical or lab experience, and comfort working with imaging equipment and digital systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Load pathology slides from customer storage into scanning trays/baskets for digitization
• Operate scanning equipment to digitize medical slides accurately and efficiently
• Unload and return slides to proper storage after scanning is completed
• Perform quality checks on scanned images to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Identify image quality issues and determine if rescan is required
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of scanning instruments
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of scanning activity, errors, and maintenance performed
• Follow established procedures to ensure high-quality medical imaging output

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma required (medical, lab, or healthcare experience preferred)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to operate medical or technical equipment with training
• Strong computer skills and comfort using digital systems
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with onsite and remote teams
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and follow procedures
