Job Summary

The Cybersecurity Analyst Intern supports the cybersecurity team by learning how enterprise security tools are used and operated and by assisting with the review and documentation of security-related activity. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to cybersecurity operations while working under the guidance and supervision of experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities (Internship-Level):

Learning & Exposure to Security Tools



  • Assist with the setup and configuration of cybersecurity tools under supervision.
  • Learn how different security solutions work together to protect the organization.


Security Operations Support



  • Help monitor security systems and review alerts, logs, and reports alongside senior team members.
  • Assist in identifying unusual or suspicious activity and escalate findings as instructed.
  • Participate in security investigations as a learning opportunity.


Documentation



  • Help document security events and incidents, including what happened and how issues were resolved.
  • Support tracking security awareness training, participation and compliance.
  • Support vulnerability scanning documentation and reporting.


Collaboration & Learning



  • Work with cybersecurity and IT team members to learn best practices in security operations.
  • Receive training on cybersecurity concepts, tools, and procedures.
  • Ask questions, seek feedback, and continuously build cybersecurity knowledge.


Position Requirements

Education & Learning Background



  • Currently pursuing or having recently completed college or university program in Cyber Secuirty, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Interest in cybersecurity concepts and technologies is required; certifications (such as Security+) are a plus but not required.


Technical Familiarity (Exposure or Coursework)



  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity topics such as:


    • MultiFactor Authentication
    • Phishing and email security


  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, iOS, or Android through coursework or personal use.

Work Conditions

  • 40-hour work week

What You'll Learn

During this internship, you will gain hands-on exposure to how cybersecurity works in a real enterprise environment. You will learn how security tools are monitored, how potential security issues are identified and escalated, and how incidents are documented and resolved. You'll build familiarity with common cybersecurity concepts such as phishing, multi factor authentication, and security monitoring platforms, while developing practical skills in teamwork, communication, and professional problem solving within an IT security organization.
