THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a Fiscal Assistant in the Cash Management and Sales Audit Division. In this role you will be responsible for identifying, researching, and reconciling discrepancies between store sales as reported from the agency's Point of Sale (POS) records and the bank file records for cash, checks, and other tenders. You will also have have the opportunity to identify, research, and reconcile discrepancies between store lottery sales records and the lottery files. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Assistant you will be responsible for completing daily reconciliation using ReconNet software and utilizing research tools such as xStore/xAdmin, Brinks 24SEVEN, and PNC Pinacle. Work also involves initiating daily ACH transfers from PNC and Santander Control account to PA Department of Treasury as well as reconciliation of lottery sales. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Completing the timely review and reconciliation of financial records for assigned store and licensee service center locations for various tenders including cash and checks
  • Compiling and submitting documentation to the Auditor General's Office or the Bureau of Audits in response to audit requests
  • Completing the timely review and reconciliation of financial records for assigned store's lottery sales by reviewing supporting documentation, identifying, and researching variances for correctness

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days per week, with one day per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  • An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.
