Overview
The Patient Access Lead assists in the coordination of staffing and activities of check in/check out. The lead provides leadership and technical expertise in all aspects of service. They perform staffing coverage as needed. The lead is responsible for helping to maintain a positive work environment and always fostering teamwork. They will participate in on boarding and training new employees. Assists department leadership with changing registration processes to improve patient satisfaction. Provides continuous feedback to staff to reduce error and enhance workflow processes. Participates and coordinates staff training needs including new employee job training. Works with clinical leadership to ensure provider schedules are efficient and free of scheduling issues. Enhance the point of service collections to ensure financial stewardship. Department Areas of Scope: Hospital Outpatient Registration, Emergency Room Registration, Off site registration locations, and pre-registration efforts at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Carle BroMenn Outpatient Center, and the Carle BroMenn Outpatient MRI center. Qualifications Certifications: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) within 1 year - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM)National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM), Education: Experience In Lieu of Education; Associate's Degree: Related Field, Work Experience: Customer service Responsibilities Perform essential job functions of a Patient Access Representative. Assists in coordination of staffing and activities. Assists leadership with orientation and training of new and existing registration staff. Acts as a role model and supports management initiatives for the department. Resolves work related issues or assists employees in solving work related issues. Establishes daily work and desk assignments to ensure adequate staffing coverage and good customer service. Establishes standards for reducing registration errors. Reviews with staff on a regular basis any registration errors and initiates necessary training to reduce errors. Assumes Leadership role in the absence of Supervisor/Manager. Completes audits to ensure compliance with various healthcare regulations. Completes QA audits to ensure work completed by the team meets the established registration standards of Carle Health. Supports Patient Access initiatives and acts as an agent of change for the team. Supports Point of Service Collections across all areas of Patient Access. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $23.05per hour - $38.49per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
