Overview

We are hiring a Trade Support Engineer (AVP) to support Rates trading and risk platforms within a fast-paced front-office environment. This role applies Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of business-critical trading systems.

You will act as a key liaison between Trading, Quant/Strats, and Engineering teams, ensuring seamless production support, rapid incident resolution, and continuous platform improvement through automation and observability.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role on the trading floor, suited for candidates who thrive under pressure and can operate with strong ownership and technical depth.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 production support for Rates (Fixed Income) trading applications
• Manage and resolve real-time production incidents, minimizing business impact
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and lead post-incident reviews with actionable improvements
• Own monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks (e.g., Geneos, Prometheus, Splunk)
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and operational risk
• Partner with developers to build scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems
• Perform capacity planning and system optimization for performance and cost efficiency
• Communicate effectively with traders, business stakeholders, and senior technology leadership

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience supporting front-office trading systems (Rates / Fixed Income preferred)
• Strong hands-on expertise in:




• Linux/Unix environments
• SQL and database troubleshooting
• Scripting (Shell, Python, etc.)




• Experience working within SRE / DevOps frameworks
• Solid understanding of incident, change, and problem management processes
• Ability to operate in a high-pressure trading floor environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Programming experience in Python or Java
• Knowledge of Fixed Income products (Rates, Credit) and trading lifecycle
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Geneos)
• Familiarity with market data systems and event-driven architectures
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A proactive mindset with focus on automation and continuous improvement

Work Environment & Structure

• Based on the New York trading floor (5 days onsite currently)
• Small, high-impact team covering Rates & Credit desks
• Close collaboration with global teams and development leadership
• Fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-critical production environment
