Position Summary: The Assembler I, Electro-mechanical, will perform mechanical, electronic, and general assembly tasks in a fast paced dynamic manufacturing environment. This entry-level position is generally intended for individuals that have limited to some level of assembly, manufacturing or operations experience. The Assembler I, Electro-mechanical will work with limited independence and in a team environment, collaborating with internal team members, leads and supervisors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Read, interpret, and follow specific and highly detailed work instructions.
  • May have limited proficiency in electro-mechanical process knowledge.
  • Operate torque tools, electric drivers, and hand tools.
  • Learning to discern electrical systems, and how to identify and correct issues in systems.
  • Perform quality inspections and recognize workmanship defects.
  • Possess an understanding of job routing sheets.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Engages in continuous improvement projects and tasks.
  • Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.
  • Participate in 5s workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.


Education/Experience & Skills:



  • High School diploma or equivalent required, related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of previous assembly experience.
  • High attention to detail, with a focus on quality first.
  • Ability to be trained and certified on detailed assemblies, with a willingness to be cross trained in many tasks.
  • Skilled with torque tools and general understanding of torque tool operation and adjustment.
  • Basic understanding and ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, works with supervision and is self-motivated.


Working Conditions:



  • Work is a blend of sitting and standing.
  • The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing area where frequent standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
  • Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, be able to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery.
  • Constant work with and clean lenses. Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to focus.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
