What You'll Do:
- Work collaboratively within a crossfunctional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, prioritizing overall vehicle benefit above individual systems.
- Collaborate with interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and ontime delivery of Lucid Interior Components and Systems.
- Employ and develop effective tools and innovative approaches to support product development.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4+ years of experience as a detailoriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g., hard trim, soft trim, IP, door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.).
- 4+ years of experience creating, improving, or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOP.
- 4+ years of Vehicle and product launch experience.
What Sets You Apart:
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems, industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilities.
- Proficiency in CAD for 2D/3D concept drawings, interior components and systems, packaging layouts, and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred).
- Flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a fastpaced startup environment.
- Experience completing one full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive interior components and systems.
- Profound knowledge of vehicle interior systems with a demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution.
- Strong understanding of plastic part design, structural performance, manufacturing technologies, craftsmanship, ergonomics, safety, and homologation requirements.
- Competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T.
- Willing to create exceptional products as part of a highly capable team.
- A practical, handson approach that complements theoretical knowledge.
- Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills.
- Ideal candidate has designed SYSTEMS on a BUILD TO PRINT scheme, capable of designing with manufacturing in mind, knowledge of INJECTION MOLDING, compression forming, lamination, GD&T etc.
