Senior EHS Specialist - JLL What this job involves:

The Senior EHS Specialist delivers centralized Environmental Health and Safety program management across multiple client sites within JLL's portfolio. This strategic position combines program standardization with flexible operational support, serving as the technical expert for contractor EHS oversight, data-driven performance analytics, and site team guidance. You'll ensure consistency and excellence across diverse locations by maintaining contractor compliance, producing actionable insights from EHS metrics, and providing expert technical support that enables continuous operations. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape EHS performance at scale while building trusted partnerships with site teams, contractors, and client stakeholders in dynamic, regulated environments.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Manage contractor EHS compliance across assigned sites. Serve as the primary point of contact for contractor qualification processes including pre-qualification assessments, safety documentation review, orientation delivery, and performance tracking. Conduct contractor safety audits, document findings, coordinate corrective actions, and maintain incident tracking while interfacing with procurement and operations teams to integrate EHS requirements into contractor selection.
  • Provide centralized technical EHS guidance to multiple site-based teams. Deliver remote and on-site support for incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development. Assist with implementation of EHS programs, procedures, and best practices while serving as subject matter expert for regulatory interpretation and compliance questions. Coordinate training initiatives and facilitate knowledge sharing to drive consistency across the portfolio.
  • Consolidate and analyze EHS performance data for strategic decision-making. Develop and maintain dashboards, monthly reports, and quarterly performance summaries by consolidating metrics from multiple sites into standardized formats. Analyze trends in incidents, observations, training compliance, and audit findings to identify performance gaps and recommend corrective measures while ensuring data accuracy across reporting systems.
  • Conduct site visits to assess program effectiveness and provide coverage. Perform scheduled and ad-hoc site assessments to identify improvement opportunities, verify compliance with regulations and client standards, and build relationships with site teams. Provide temporary EHS coverage during staff vacations, leaves, or open positions while maintaining situational awareness of site-specific hazards and operational changes.
  • Document findings and collaborate on action plans across all functions. Maintain meticulous documentation of audits, inspections, contractor activities, and site visit findings. Work with site teams to develop and track corrective action plans while supporting regulatory reporting requirements and compliance verification processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive EHS experience in regulated industries, demonstrating increasing responsibility and technical expertise.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations applicable to laboratory and manufacturing environments, with ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors from an EHS perspective including qualification, oversight, performance tracking, and compliance enforcement.
  • Proficiency with EHS data management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting, analysis, and presentation development.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel up to 25% for site visits, audits, and temporary coverage assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence without direct authority and build trusted partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional EHS certifications such as ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), CIF (Certified Industrial Firefighter), or equivalent credentials.
  • Previous experience working in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environments with knowledge of cGxP (current Good Practice) safety standards and quality systems.
  • Experience with specialized EHS management software platforms for incident tracking, auditing, training management, or compliance documentation.
