The Attorney also oversees and manages external counsel, providing legal guidance to the Company's management and employees at all levels, from the corporate office to operational divisions. The Attorney may support the Company's procurement, IT, and other functional groups, offering advice on matters such as service agreements, supply agreements, data privacy, and other legal matters related to procurement and information technology. This role is fully onsite and located in Birmingham, Alabama. What You'll Do:
Qualifications
Skills You'll Need: Education: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with exceptional academic performance. Experience: 3+ years experience as a practicing corporate attorney, including broad-based experience dealing with general corporate law matters, such as contracts, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and other related regulatory work. Critical Competencies: Legal Expertise: Deep understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, including corporate law and commercial contracts. Strategic Thinking: Ability to provide proactive and strategic legal advice to support business objectives. Must have the ability to thoroughly analyze legal and factual issues and arrive at sound conclusions. Risk Management: Proficiency in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and communicating about legal risks related to business operations. Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations and the ability to provide practical legal solutions. Communication and Collaboration: Highly skilled in written, oral, and negotiation communications, with the proven ability to distill complex legal concepts clearly for diverse internal and external audiences. Must effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, quickly building trust and maintaining highly effective working relationships across all organizational levels. Client Service and Professionalism: Approachable, with the ability to provide straightforward information and advice to internal clients, while maintaining the professionalism and respect required to provide legal guidance to employees at all levels. Dispute Management: Ability to effectively advise on and manage all phases of complex business disputes, working collaboratively with internal teams and outside counsel. Problem-Solving and Judgment: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Work Management and Autonomy: Strong capacity for self-management and autonomy, effectively organizing and prioritizing a heavy, diverse workload that includes multiple tasks, deadlines, and shifting client requirements with minimal supervision.
