Mercy Care Management Inpatient Utilization Care Management pre-certification specialist is responsible for completion of precertification, notification, authorization and work queue management, for patient accounts admitted to Mercy designated facilities. Pre-certification(s) must be completed timely, with attention to accurate details per payer requirements, and Mercy policy and procedure. Pre-Certification specialist perform duties required for work queue management, such as, observation charge review, missing room and board charge review and retrospective Medicaid authorization requests. Pre-Certification specialist facilitate fiscal responsibility for both patients and the organization. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Details:
Minimum Required Qualifications - Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, able to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize work. - Must have a good understanding of medical terminology with the ability to read, discuss and understand patient medical information. - Excellent verbal, written and technical skills, particularly telephone and Microsoft suite of programs. Advanced computer skills. - Must have ability to interact effectively with a variety of people and situations at all levels of the organization.
