DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this position, you will support major transportation projects by handling real estate activities and guiding property related processes. Your work will ensure that projects move forward smoothly and responsibly. As a Real Estate Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Property Negotiation: Negotiate with property owners and representatives for acquisitions and relocation claims while applying real estate laws and market knowledge
- Deed Research: Research deed information, review appraisal data, and discuss project impacts with property owners or representatives
- Claim Resolution: Review appraisals, present fair market value offers, explain relocation options, and work toward resolving claims amicably
- Legal Actions: Initiate declarations of taking when needed, assist owners with relocation efforts, and provide testimony on assigned claims
- Project Coordination: Participate in design teams, advise on right of way matters, and assist with consultant coordination and problem resolution
- Document Management: Record deeds and legal notices, prepare court filings, and meet with attorneys to address docket requirements

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 50% after a successful probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Real Estate Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of technical real estate experience and an associate degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires the possession of an active Class C driver's license or equivalent.
