DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Tax Examiner 1, you will learn to retrieve Item Reviews containing internal requests from multiple work queues where you will cross-reference customer and account information, verify IDs, and ensure accurate and duplicate-free registration creation. Work includes reviewing all sections of incoming PA-100 Enterprise Registration Forms retrieved from PATH to ensure compliance with all requirements before transferring the information to the internal Online Business Tax Registration. This position examines and understands all suspension reasons for Online Business Tax Registrations before creating, reinstating, or updating customer information. You can expect to thoroughly review customer financial history for the purpose of initiating the transfer payments and returns from one customer to another and validate ID types that prevent the timely processing of tax returns. Additional duties to include:
- Communicating effectively with customers via phone, email, or web notice in PATH to request and obtain necessary documents
- Navigating the myPath website to assist taxpayers in creating and maintaining login credentials for the purpose of registering new business and maintaining existing business tax accounts, updating customer information and resetting passwords
- Maintaining daily production by providing accurate reporting of completed and backlogged work
- Preparing incoming and outing daily mail

- Full-time employment
- Work hours: Incumbent will have the option to work 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30 or 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days a week after successful completion of the six month probation period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of general office work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must have customer service experience.
- You must have experience handling incoming and outgoing phone calls.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
