We are currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for Rental Field Service Technician new hires. $2,500 is payable after 90-days of employment, and the remaining $2,500 is payable after 180 days of employment. Job Title: Rental Field Service Technician Location: Baltimore, Maryland Shift: 1st Starting Compensation Range: $34.55 - $43.43 per hour The Rental Field Service Technician applies advanced-level mechanical aptitude to perform maintenance and repairs to Caterpillar and allied rental equipment in the shop and at customer job sites; applies troubleshooting techniques and determines proper repair procedures; prepares parts requisitions. Requirements for the Rental Field Service Technician position include: Must have thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly, and improvise using logic and critical thinking skills to make needed repairs Must have advanced-level mechanical aptitude Must have the ability to repair Caterpillar and allied components and machines Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Must be able to interact with customers on a professional level Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills Must be self-directed ad well organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service Demonstrates ability to learn and apply new knowledge Proficient in use of technical software, databases and manuals Excellent driving record required with the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification Must be able to work additional hours as needed to meet business and customer demands Promote a positive customer experience Uphold the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence and Teamwork by embracing The Carter Way Seeking Candidates with: minimum three years' experience performing advanced-level mechanical service and repairs to Caterpillar and related competitive equipment High school diploma or GED, required Physical Requirements: Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear Frequently required to sit Regularly lift and/or more up to 70 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Competitive Compensation and Benefits: Health, dental and vision insurance Paid time off 401(k), $0.75 to $1.25 match up to 6% Life and disability insurance In-house training instructors/programs Tuition reimbursement Employee referral bonus program Tool allowances and tool loans Discounts on cellular phone service, computers, and vehicles Opportunities for overtime Shift differential (if applicable) You'll gain access to real learning, real advancement, and a real future in a company that's reshaping what it means to lead in our industry.
