What you'll do:
SUMMARY: The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating all yard, chassis, and carrier movements to ensure safe, timely, and efficient flow of inbound and outbound units. This role serves as the administrative and communication hub of the Traffic Department, maintaining real-time visibility of equipment status, carrier schedules, yard capacity, and documentation accuracy. The Dispatcher ensures accurate system updates, documentation compliance, and cross-functional coordination with Production, Sales, Quality, and external carriers to prevent delays, congestion, and lost asset visibility. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and control daily inbound and outbound chassis movement schedules with carriers and internal departments Maintain accurate, real-time system visibility of chassis location, yard inventory status, dealership appointments, and cross-functional movement activity Issue, track, and reconcile reassignment documentation and daily movement logs to ensure asset traceability Verify arrival documentation and resolve discrepancies (including IVDs) in a timely manner Communicate carrier arrival times, staging instructions, and dock readiness requirements to support efficient yard flow Monitor yard capacity and proactively escalate congestion risks to Materials Leadership Track, analyze, and report chassis aging and dwell time to support yard capacity planning and execution of chassis exercises Generate and distribute operational reports including inspection status, aging units, dealership appointments, and movement performance metrics Maintain unit key inventory control and support periodic reconciliation audits Assist with damage documentation, incident reporting, and required record retention Maintain organized electronic and physical records in accordance with company policy Support continuous improvement initiatives related to traffic flow, asset visibility, and turn-time reduction What you need to be successful:
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred 3-5 years experience in logistics, dispatching, transportation coordination, materials operations, or similar high-volume operational environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (data organization, reporting, filtering, reconciliation, and performance tracking) Demonstrated experience working within ERP or inventory management systems; ability to maintain high levels of data accuracy and system discipline Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to serve as a central communication hub between carriers, Operations Leadership, Engineering, and Materials Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple priorities, shifting schedules, and competing operational demands Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to reconcile discrepancies, including time-sensitive documentation such as IVDs Ability to interpret operational data, identify irregularities, and escalate issues appropriately Proven ability to apply structured problem-solving and sound judgment in fast-paced operational environments Why Aebi Schmidt Group?
