The Position:

Under the direction of the Area Manager, the Concrete Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for safeguarding and eciently directing all processes, people, and resources as assigned. Success in this role is determined by the ability to cultivate and nurture a positive team environment; supervising, developing, and guiding team members; uphold quality control operations while emphasizing safety, ethics, integrity, and eciency; proactively managing risk; and complying ethically with all internal and external policies, specications, procedures, and standards.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Developahigh-performanceculturebyleading,mentoring,andmotivatingateamoftechnicians.

  • Delegateresponsibilitiesappropriately,monitoringforunderstandingandperformance.

  • Useappropriatemodestodeliverclear,concise,andwell-organizedwrittenandoralcommunication.

  • Listeneectively,provideappropriatefeedback,andaskquestionstoclarifyissuesandcreateinsightsforothers.

  • Demonstrateselfandsocialawareness,reectingonyouractivitiesandtheimpactonothers,seekingandactinguponfeedbackwithoutdefensiveness.

OperationalManagement:

  • Managethepeopleandassetsforyourarea,allocatingthoseresourcesinamannerthatmaximizeseciencyand eectiveness of ethical testing.

  • Ensureyourteammembershavetheresourcestodelivertheirtaskseectivelyandeciently.

  • Identifyandresolvepotentialproblemsbeforetheyescalate,takingpromptactiontoaddressissues.

  • Adjustprioritiestomeetmultipledemandsandunanticipatedevents.

  • Maintainregularandeectivecommunicationwithteammemberstoensureclearunderstandingofgoals,expectations, work hours, and tofollow uponpreviousgoal deadlines.

  • Managemultipleprojectsandassignmentssimultaneously.

  • Proactivelyanticipate,manage,andresolveconictsanddisagreements.

  • Deliverhigh-qualityproductsandcustomerservice,meetingtheneedsofbothinternalandexternalcustomers.

TechnicalExpertise:

  • Demonstrateanddirectadherencetoalllegalguidelines,governingregulationsandspecications,andCompanypoliciestoensureethicalcompliance.

  • Ensurethatallteammembersfullycomplywiththeexpectations,policies,procedures,andstandardsas detailedintheQualityManagementSystemandQCTechnicianManual

  • Certifythatallyourteammembersareproperlytrained,understand,maintaincurrentcerticationsfortestingtrequ equipped withresourcesto ensure their personal safety and perform their duties asrequired.

  • CompleteandmaintaincomplianceitemsontimeandasassignedintheQCSComplianceRequirementsandReminders database,or as directed.

  • Auditprojects,laboratories,andevaluatesteammemberstoensurethetestingandreportingisexecuted eectively,eciently,safelyandinaccordancewiththespecicationsandcompanypolicies,procedures,and standards.

  • Awareofhowourequipmentcompareswithcustomers'equipmenttopredictQC/QVvariabilityandrisk.

  • Reviewalltestresultsproducedbyteammembersinreal-time,analyzingtrends.Assistwithtroubleshootingandimplementprocesscontrolchangesand/orcorrectiveactionstominimizerisk.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the most current specications, process control, and materialproduction troubleshooting.

  • Possessin-depthknowledgeofConcreteRedi-mixplants,Concretepavingoperations,aggregatecrush/washprocesses,andtheir impact on test results.

  • UnderstandthesciencebehindConcrete production,aggregates,andapplicablecalculations.

  • Guaranteethatalllaboratoriesandequipmentarecalibrated,checked,andstandardizedperAASHTOR18,the Quality Management SystemandQC Technician Manual.

  • Continuallyeducateoneselftobeacomplianceexpertandtakeaccountabilityforcompliancewiththelatest specications,regulations,governingstandardsandprocedures,andproductionandinstallationprocesscontrol.

Qualifications:

  • CompletionofaHighSchoolDiplomaorequivalent(e.g.,GED).

    Aminimumof3yearsofhands-onexperienceintestingconcrete,roadmaterialsandconstruction.

  • Knowledgeoftheprinciples,practices,specications,andproceduresoftheconcreteconstructionindustry

  • PossessorcanobtaincurrentWisDOTPCC I, II and/or PCC MDCorACAMDOT(MI)certication.

  • Demonstratedsatisfactoryperformanceindirectingconstruction concretetesting.

  • Demonstrateddecision-makingandproblem-solvingskills.

  • Capacitytomanagemultiplecomplextasksconcurrently.

  • Exceptionalskillsinbothwrittenandoralcommunication.

  • Willingnesstoundertakelocalandregionaltravel.
