Position Overview:This position is responsible for performing PET imaging procedures, CT scans and Simulations. Collaborates with Imaging management on technical issues, equipment performance and QA.Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Performs PET scan procedures to include injection of radiopharmaceutical, setup of protocol, reconstruction and development of images, coordination of image on report function and archiving of images.
  • Assists in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution and patient files.
  • Assists with collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of teaching and educational information.
  • Performs CT and Simulation procedures as ordered achieving a high level of quality.
  • Offers expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional/modified studies, etc.
  • Escorts patients to treatment room. Assists with dressings as necessary. Complete all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of PET, CT and Simulation services.
  • Utilize treatment accessories to accurately reproduce the radiation treatment.
  • Construct immobilization devices and employee custom construction techniques that are conducive to conformal Radiation Therapy.
  • Provides protection for patients and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Ensures the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologists' care.
  • Conducts daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly quality control measures to monitor machine and equipment performance. Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility.
  • Arrange preventive maintenance as recommended by vendors. Follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
  • Performs all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Formal Education, Certification/Licensure, and Prior Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

  • an associate's degree in nuclear medicine technology from an accredited program.
  • three (3) years' experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience
  • CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) or ARRT (N) certification
  • state licensure where applicable

Physical Demands:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

  • Regularly: sit, stand, bend, grasp, reach, talk and hear
  • Occasionally: stoop/crouch, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, pull/push up to 300 pounds, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Vision: clearly see up to 5 feet with or without corrective lenses

Work Environment:

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee:

  • will not be exposed to any workplace environmental conditions caused by extreme noise, heat, cold, workplace hazards, or atmospheric dust/fumes/vapors/mists
  • will be exposed to blood borne pathogens
  • will be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
  • be exposed to ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a clinic environment

Salary DOE - $40.11 - $60.17
