Overview This role will require onsite presence at our Valmeyer, IL facility. Position Overview: Establishes and maintains a strong positive relationship with customers which includes the selling of the company's capabilities, job estimating and servicing of the account. Ensures that job specifications are clearly documented when taking job orders, expedites the order and coordinates with prepress and plant to ensure that a quality product is produced. Must respond as quickly as possible to any customer communications. * Learns and understands the customer's needs and listens for any opportunity to sell new services to a current or new customer. * Service the customer and production by solving problems, gathering, and transmitting information as needed, ensuring the highest quality product possible. * Serves customers and production personnel as contact and source of information on jobs. * Takes job specs from customer, develops cost estimate, and provides a quotation to the customer. * Compares the job and estimate to reconcile any differences with the customer specifications. * Plans the job, which includes ensuring that the needed materials are on hand, creating the press layout and binding impositions, ordering outside services and finalizes scheduling with production. * Clearly documents all communication with customer so that all plant and prepress personnel understand the customer's needs. * Enters job into the plant system and creates the accompanying job folder. * Communicates delivery requirements to plant personnel and follows up, as necessary. * Tracks job through production and communicates any problems or changes to plant personnel and customer. Makes sure jobs ship as scheduled. * Inspects proofs and sends to customer. * Sets up press check with customer if needed and follow through to ensure both client and production satisfaction. * Coordinates with production to ensure quality work is shipped to the customer. * Handles customer complaints or discrepancies after job has shipped. * Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); or one to two years' related experience and/or training in a similar position. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate by phone or in person, present information and respond to questions from customers, prepress, and plant personnel. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, discounts, and percentages. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with multiple variables. Other Skills and Abilities Ability to work with specific computer systems and software and possess minimum typing skills of 40wpm. Ability to prioritize daily work and projects. Working knowledge of graphic arts. Ability to travel on company business. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid vehicle operator's license in state of residence. Physical Demand While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or lift. May occasionally lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. While the plant is climate controlled, there may be times during certain weather events when the working environment may be colder or hotter than normal.
