Job Summary:
The UW-Madison Police Department is hiring a Court Services Liaison. The Court Services Liaison, under the general supervision of the Investigative Services Sergeant, provides administrative support, preparation, and coordination with sworn officers of court documentation and records. Primary responsibilities include providing court-related services to the general public, attorneys, and other government agencies. This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of court practices and procedures as it relates to diverse cases and performs a wide variety of responsible and complex legal clerical duties necessary to judicial administration and related work as required. UW-Madison Police Department employees will support the department's vision and mission by operating in a fair, unbiased manner which respects the rights, safety and dignity of all individuals. Employees will assist or participate on an as-needed basis with the department's recruiting and hiring efforts and the onboarding of new employees in the work unit. Department employees are expected to work in partnership with the campus and area communities to provide leadership in solving community problems, preventing crime and providing a safe environment to fulfill the mission of the University. This position will be required to work special events or assignments as designated by the Department. This position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. This position will be required to appear in court as needed. The general hours will be business hours Monday - Friday. Occasional work beyond or outside hours agreed upon may be required during critical time periods related to various cases. The final work schedule will be discussed and agreed up on with the Captain of Investigative Services. Key Job Responsibilities:
UW-Madison Police Department Compensation:Salary range: $23.00 - $39.00 (hourly) Depending on Qualifications Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and demonstrated expertise. The upper end of the salary range is typically reserved for candidates who bring significant, directly relevant experience and who demonstrate exceptional depth and breadth of knowledge, sustained high-level performance, and specialized skills that add substantial value to the University. Candidates considered at this level are expected to serve as subject-matter experts, mentors, and key resources within their area, reflecting a premium alignment with current market benchmarks. Night & Weekend Differential: UWPD offers a $2.50/hr night differential for all hours worked between 6:00pm - 6:00am and a $2.00/hr weekend differential for all hours worked between 12:01am - 12:00am on Saturday and Sunday. These differentials are layered, so when working a weekend night, you will receive both.
