Director of Rapid Innovation Engineering

Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a technically exceptional, missionfocused leader to serve as Director of Rapid Innovation Engineering.
  • This director level role will lead solutions engineering for FNR ecosystem. The role is responsible for FNR's analytical core, engineering rigor, financial modeling architecture, and the technical frameworks that underpin the group's productized solutions and transition pathways.
  • This opportunity is REMOTE.


Job Description:


  • The Director of Rapid Innovation Engineering leads the development, operation, and evolution of FNR's analytical core value engine, transition readiness scoring methodology, and the data architecture foundational to the organization's product portfolio.
  • This role owns financial forecasting models, pricing strategies, valuation tools, modeling and simulation frameworks, and the contractual structures through which FNR products are delivered to government customers.
  • Responsibilities include leading value engineering, ROI and transition probability analysis, technical due diligence on candidate technologies, and establishing the engineering defensibility necessary for proposal, acquisition, and audit contexts.
  • The role works in tight partnership with the Director of Rapid Innovation Strategy to ensure synchronized strategyengineering integration across all FNRengineered solutions and leads the buildout of FNR's engineering and analytics function as the organization scales.


Qualifications:


  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, statistics, or a related quantitative field and at least 12 years of experience in defense engineering, program analysis, quantitative modeling, or related missionaligned technical disciplines.
  • Must have experience designing and operating analytical scoring frameworks, transition readiness methodologies, or comparable productized engineering systems.
  • Must have a proven track record in defense pricing, cost strategy, and financial modeling for federal pursuits; and strong technical competence across modeling, simulation, and evaluative methodologies.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Preferred experience includes a Master of Business Administration or a graduate degree in applied mathematics, engineering, or statistics; a doctoral degree in research, evaluation, analytics, or quantitative methodology; and senior leadership or cofounder experience within a defense technology venture.
  • Additional preferred experience includes work within the DoW Test & Evaluation enterprise, JT&E programs, or comparable environments requiring engineering rigor.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar program leadership credentials; and direct experience with rapidfielding acquisition mechanisms such as OTAs, Cooperative Agreements, BAAs, QRTC/CTEIP, or SBIR Phase III, preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required clearances and comply with all applicable federal security protocols.


Travel Requirements:


  • Moderate travel; approximately 20% or less. Candidates must possess valid and compliant identification credentials to access federal and military facilities as required.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $120 - $160,000 per hour
