Job Description:

The Director, Global Procurement is responsible for leading the strategic direction, governance, and execution of all procurement activities across a global semiconductor manufacturing organization. This role oversees global sourcing, supplier management, contract strategy, and cost optimization initiatives to ensure a resilient, cost-effective, and high-performing supply base supporting complex manufacturing operations.

This position operates at the enterprise level, establishing procurement strategy, driving cross-functional alignment, and influencing executive decisions related to supply chain risk, supplier partnerships, and long-term capacity planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Procurement Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute enterprise-wide procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with business growth, technology roadmaps, and operational priorities.

  • Lead global category management across direct materials, capital equipment, and indirect spend.

  • Establish governance, policies, and standardized procurement processes across regions and sites.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on supply chain risks, cost drivers, and market dynamics.

Supplier & Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, including executive-level engagement and long-term partnership agreements.

  • Lead supplier segmentation, performance management, and risk mitigation strategies across a global supply network.

  • Ensure supply continuity for critical semiconductor components, capital equipment, and precision materials.

  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to ensure supplier capability, qualification, and performance.

Cost, Performance & Operational Excellence

  • Drive cost reduction, total cost of ownership (TCO), and working capital optimization initiatives.

  • Lead contract negotiations for high-value, long-term supplier agreements.

  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor supplier performance, cost savings, and procurement efficiency.

  • Implement best practices in strategic sourcing, category management, and procurement analytics.

Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Planning to align procurement with product roadmaps and capacity requirements.

  • Support new product introduction (NPI), site expansions, and technology transfers through early supplier engagement.

  • Influence capital planning decisions related to equipment sourcing and supplier availability.

  • Ensure alignment with global compliance, ESG, and regulatory requirements.

Organization & Talent Leadership

  • Build and lead a global procurement organization, including category leaders and regional teams.

  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability building in strategic sourcing and supplier management.

  • Establish a high-performance culture focused on accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
