Responsibilities and Expectations:
We are seeking an Area HSE Coordinator to lead and support health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities across multiple field service locations within a designated region. This field-driven role requires regular presence at active job sites to coach technicians and site leadership, drive real-time risk mitigation, and ensure consistent execution of our HSE programs.
As the Area HSE Coordinator, you will:
This role is highly field-oriented and requires consistent presence at operational job sites to effectively support and influence safe work execution.
  • Serve as the primary HSE point of contact across assigned service Region
  • Conduct regular site visits to support implementation of HSE programs and CIPS progression.
  • Facilitate and support incident reporting, investigation, and resolution activities across sites.
  • Coach and guide site leadership and element owners on execution of their HSE responsibilities. Promote a culture of safety through engagement, coaching, and collaboration with operations.
  • Perform and support risk assessments, JHAs, and field hazard identification.
  • Lead toolbox talks, and safety stand-downs.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across field sites to promote standardization.
  • Complete safety walkthroughs, behavior-based safety observations (BBS), and audits regularly.
  • Act as liaison between site-level Management needs and the Regional HSE Manager.
  • Track and analyze HSE performance metrics, leading small-scale improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in and support HSE Steering Committees and worker engagement programs.
  • Support coordination with vendors, contractors, and third parties as needed for HSE-related matters.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental program execution, with strong exposure to field service or industrial environments.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites or field service operations strongly preferred.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, BCSP STS/CHST/OHST) highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence across levels of leadership and employees.
  • Proficiency in using HSE management systems, software tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time, travel to assigned locations 50%-70%, and self-direct across responsibilities.
  • Deviation and approval from IPS Regional HSE Manager required.
  • Strong team mentality with problem solving, trouble shooting, and analysis skills
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
