Lead Technician - JLL What this job involves:

The Lead Technician role is a dynamic blend of hands-on technical expertise and supervisory leadership that drives operational excellence across our facilities. As the technical backbone of the team, you'll oversee daily maintenance operations, lead a skilled team of technicians, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. What your day-to-day will look like:

Supervise and coordinate daily technical operations by reviewing work order assignments, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance and repair activities across assigned facilities.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform hands-on technical work alongside your team, implementing preventive maintenance programs and optimizing workflow efficiency to minimize downtime.

Train, mentor, and develop technicians through coaching, performance evaluations, and skills development initiatives while managing schedules and workload distribution to maintain optimal team productivity.

Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies by documenting work performed, maintaining accurate records, and implementing corrective actions when needed.

Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients and internal stakeholders by communicating project status, addressing concerns promptly, and coordinating with vendors and contractors to deliver exceptional service and maintain strong relationships.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on technical experience in facility maintenance, building systems, or a related technical field with demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven supervisory or lead technician experience, including responsibility for team coordination, work assignment, and performance management.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and relevant trade licenses or certifications as required by local jurisdiction (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing certifications).
  • Strong proficiency with maintenance management software systems, digital work order platforms, and ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in various environmental conditions, climb ladders and scaffolding, stand or walk for extended periods, and work in confined spaces as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical certification, associate degree, or specialized trade school training in relevant technical discipline beyond high school diploma.
  • Experience implementing and managing preventive maintenance programs and optimizing maintenance workflows for improved efficiency and cost savings.
  • Demonstrated success in training and developing technical staff with strong interpersonal and communication skills for both team leadership and client interactions.
  • Advanced knowledge of building automation systems, energy management platforms, or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Availability for on-call rotation and emergency response with flexibility to work outside standard business hours when operational needs require.

Location: Onsite

Work Shift:

First shift: Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm

Second shift: Monday to Friday 2:00pm to 10:30pm

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

95,000.00 - 98,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
