As a Materials Specialist at Arete, you will play a key role in supporting the dynamics of our warehouse activities within both production and R&D environments. Your role is multifaceted, requiring adherence to our company policies and the meticulous management of materials, from their receipt to their utilization on the production floor. This opening is at our Niwot, CO office and is a non-exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Your role includes responsibilities for weekly and annual physical counts, maintaining inventory accuracy in line with Arete's policies.
  • Ensures accurate distribution of products by pulling parts from inventory, delivering production materials based on production schedule or inventory transaction forms.
  • Manages the flow of incoming and outgoing products, materials, and supplies, ensuring accurate documentation, inventory control, and safe handling. Key duties include inspecting shipments for damage, verifying contents against purchase orders, and preparing items for shipping using our Material Management System.
  • Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area. Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, and recording location of inventory.
  • Verifying materials, lot numbers, and quantities for all transactions.
  • Work alongside engineering, purchasing, quality assurance, configuration management, and production teams to ensure material flow accuracy.
  • ISO Audit Support: You will provide support during internal and external ISO audits on a yearly basis.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and hand trucks is essential.
  • Ensuring that warehouse supplies are well-stocked falls under your purview.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds
  • Additional tasks that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing operations.

Experiences and Background We Look For (Required Skills):

  • U.S. citizenship, background screen and drug test are required to meet position eligibility
  • 5+ years of Foreign and Domestic shipping experience - knowledge of Licenses, HTS codes, Warranties
  • Experience using material management databases
  • Ability to facilitate working relationships with internal customers, suppliers and government agencies
  • 5+ years of experience with inventory management or production planning

Nice to have (Preferred Skills):

  • Experience using MRP software (CostPoint desired)
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, EAR and ITAR
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Forklift experience

The salary range for this role is $51,000/yr to $60,000/yr; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
