Job description
Sr. BMC Remedy Developer Englewood, CO Position Requires Onsite work from start of project. Hybrid Schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote Multi-Year Project
- True BMC Remedy Development experience - Remedy 9.1+ needed
Custom Remedy Environment, Development and understanding - Strong database experience (SQL, CMDB, Table knowledge, etc)
- API & webservices experience
- Strong Linux environment experience needed
- System Admin/Configuration Control/Metrics experience desired
- ITSM Highly Preferred
- Create APIs to extract data/export "Outages/Issues" from IRIS/CARS/WebPortal/Gateway and merge with into single-tracking and reporting system
- Two systems currently track outages
- Monitors and response personnel may not know an Outage/issue was already reported which results in redundancies in response times and status
- Existing processes do not provide timely responses back to customers
- Build logic to identify patterns and create an alert that an outage or issue is suspected - send data to alert system
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Consistent with a 24 X 7 Operations environment, this position needs to be available via cell phone to respond to escalated issues. Candidate must have a strong understanding of RedHat operating systems, and hardware. This should include configuration, operation, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
- Advanced ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality Advanced ability to create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications Advanced ability to follow and implement established change and control policies and procedures
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot application problems In-depth knowledge of development tools, application frameworks, and testing tools. In-depth knowledge of OSS applications and software In-depth knowledge of choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process
- Strong ability to transform an operational need into a description of system parameters and incorporate those parameters in the control of the total system development to achieve an optimum, cost-effective balance of all system elements Advanced knowledge of network and systems engineering systems concepts and system/super-system skills, including NetApp Clustered On-TAP, Cisco UCS, and VMWare systems Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience Related Work Experience

- Candidate must have at least 4-6 years of email application support in a Tier 2 or higher capacity. Experience with large messaging systems and distributed storage.
- Understanding of the major clients for these services, and how these clients and services interact.
- Experience in the day-to-day operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of messaging systems.
- Prior experience with installation/maintenance of network and system management tools/software. Experience with perl and shell scripting. Strong familiarity with current industry anti-Spam practices.
- Previous experience supporting Openwave Email MX, directory, and webmail, as well as Message Systems MTA products is strongly desired.
- The candidate must be a team player, with an inherent ability to work well under tight timelines, and have strong problem-solving capabilities. Position requires a self-motivated problem-solver with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
