Overview

SSOE is looking to hire a Revit modeler, to specifically support the mechanical design team. You will develop and manage detailed Revit models supporting HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, integrating mechanical layouts with electrical routing as needed to ensure seamless interdisciplinary coordination. Your role will include producing accurate equipment families and assemblies, interface daily with project managers and mechanical discipline leads to ensure work aligns with project milestones and client expectations and partnering closely with other disciplines to maintain model integrity and reduce clashes ahead of BIM coordination meetings.

AI and Innovation

At SSOE, we don't just talk about the future, we build it. As a leader in industry AI adoption, we empower our team to work smarter by providing responsible access to the industry leading AI Large Language Models, vibe-coding platforms, and securely integrating advanced tools into every role. From day one, you'll receive the training and support needed to leverage AI as a core tool for enhancing productivity, sparking creativity, and streamlining complex workflows.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed Revit mechanical models encompassing HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire protection, ensuring adherence to standards and codes alongside coordination with NEC-compliant electrical components.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to resolve BIM clashes, using Navisworks, reducing RFIs and rework.
  • Produce documentation including duct and pipe isometrics, equipment installation details, and accessory schedules in Revit, supporting smooth package handoffs to contractors.
  • Support mechanical design calculations such as duct sizing, equipment selection, and validating model outputs against engineering design criteria.
  • Participate in design reviews, presenting model progress and addressing technical inquiries with data-backed rationale.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to incorporate accurate equipment model geometries and performance data into the BIM environment, ensuring compliance with project performance specifications.
  • Support construction administration by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals related to mechanical components, and conducting periodic site visits to verify installation against models and drawings.
  • Maintain comprehensive QA/QC checklists covering Revit model integrity, parameter accuracy, and compliance with SSOE's internal BIM standards and industry codes.
  • Support project discipline leads during turnover packages, ensuring all mechanical Revit content meets client expectations for documentation completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct constructability reviews related to mechanical model elements, flagging potential conflicts or sequencing concerns in relation to electrical or structural disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' Revit modeling experience specifically focused on mechanical systems design within A/E projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Revit MEP tools for mechanical system modeling, including system families, connectors, and routing.
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams, including coordination with electrical, structural, and process engineering disciplines.
  • Proven ability to interpret engineering design criteria into accurate, constructible BIM models aligning with project specifications and client standards.
  • Capability to review and validate design calculations such as duct sizing, equipment capacities, and pressure loss, interfacing model outputs with engineering analyses.
  • Experience in client-facing roles including design reviews and technical clarifications during design and construction phases.
  • Familiarity with BIM QA/QC procedures, change management, and risk identification within Revit and integrated project workflows.
