Responsibilities: JOB SUMMARY
The SVP - Chief Operating Officer HonorHealth Foundation serves as the principal strategic and operational partner to the President & CEO, acting as an enterprise integrator to ensure clarity of priorities, disciplined execution, and sustained alignment across strategy, operations, governance, and organizational culture. This role functions as a direct extension of the President & CEO - translating strategic intent into coordinated action, strengthening leadership operating cadence, and enabling senior leaders to execute effectively against the Foundation's mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Executive Integration & Strategic Stewardship:
Serve as the primary thought partner and strategic integrator to the President & CEO, supporting the development, execution, and stewardship of the Foundation's multi year strategy and annual operating priorities. Translate strategic direction into clear objectives, sequencing, interdependencies, and success measures that enable leaders to act decisively and in alignment. Establish and maintain an enterprise operating cadence that includes leadership forums, decision tracking, action follow through, and structured business reviews. Ensure priorities remain visible, progress is monitored, and emerging risks or misalignments surface early for executive resolution. Lead cross functional initiatives that require coordination across multiple departments, ensuring momentum, clarity of ownership, and consistent execution without duplicating or displacing functional authority. - Organizational Operations & Administrative Leadership:
Provide enterprise level oversight of Foundation administrative operations to ensure consistency, professionalism, and adherence to policies, procedures, and service standards across departments. Partner with senior leaders to set expectations, reinforce accountability, and drive operational maturity as the organization grows in size and complexity. Collaborate with system Human Resources on recruitment coordination, onboarding and offboarding experiences, performance management rhythms, leadership development, employee engagement, and recognition programs-reinforcing consistency while preserving system and functional ownership. Oversee Foundation office operations and infrastructure planning, including workspace standards, facilities coordination, and administrative systems, ensuring they scale appropriately with organizational growth and geographic footprint. - Finance Partnership & Operational Enablement:
Partner with the SVP of Finance to operationalize financial policies, internal controls, compliance requirements, and audit readiness across the Foundation. Ensure leaders understand expectations and timelines while financial analysis, recommendations, and reporting remain owned by Finance leadership. Support Audit and Finance Committee operations through meeting planning, coordination, and follow up, ensuring materials, decisions, and actions are tracked and executed in alignment with governance expectations. - Communications, Donor Relations & Executive Messaging Coordination:
Lead internal communication structures that keep staff aligned with strategic priorities, organizational updates, and enterprise initiatives, including leadership communications, town halls, and change support mechanisms. Coordinate CEO communications, presentations, and externally facing engagements in partnership with the SVP of Communications & Donor Relations, who retains ownership of messaging, donor voice, campaign narratives, and brand direction. Ensure donor and campaign reporting timelines align with Board and CEO expectations while underlying content, data integrity, and approvals remain the responsibility of Communications and Development leadership. - Governance & Board Support:
Partner with the President & CEO to plan and execute Foundation Board and committee meetings, annual retreats, and strategic sessions that support effective governance and informed decision making. Coordinate preparation, delivery, and follow up of Board and committee materials, ensuring content is developed by accountable executive leaders and that actions are clearly documented, assigned, and tracked. Serve as a liaison for Board engagement and governance related initiatives under the direction of the President & CEO. - Data, Analytics & Enterprise Performance:
Establish and maintain an enterprise level scorecard with clearly defined performance indicators, executive ownership, and reporting cadence. Ensure leaders have access to timely, reliable information that supports decision making, performance management, and continuous improvement. Partner with Finance on financial and compliance metrics and with Communications & Donor Relations on donor, campaign, and engagement metrics, reinforcing clarity of accountability while enabling enterprise level visibility. - Technology, Collaboration & AI Enablement:
Partner with the SVP of Technology & Data Analytics to support modernization of collaboration platforms, intranet systems, and knowledge management practices that improve transparency and cross team effectiveness. Facilitate responsible adoption of secure productivity technologies and AI enabled workflows that increase staff capacity and efficiency while aligning with system IT governance, privacy, and information security standards. - Staff Development, Culture & Leadership Enablement:
Partner with the President & CEO to foster a mission driven organizational culture emphasizing accountability, inclusion, professional growth, and results. Support leadership and staff retreats, forums, and recognition efforts that reinforce alignment, engagement, and organizational cohesion. Provide executive level counsel and leadership on high priority initiatives, anticipating risks, removing barriers, and ensuring successful outcomes across strategic, operational, and organizational efforts. Represent the President & CEO or the Foundation in select internal or external engagements as requested.
EDUCATION
- Bachelors Required
- Other / Certificate Advanced degree in business, nonprofit management, healthcare administration, or related field Preferred
EXPERIENCE
- , Progressive senior leadership experience in philanthropy, healthcare, or complex nonprofit environments Required
- , Demonstrated success in organizational operations, executive partnership, strategic planning, governance support, and cross functional coordination Required
