PRN ICU Nocturnist

Position Summary

The Critical Care Medicine Physician provides comprehensive care for critically ill adult patients in intensive care units across the health system. This role includes management of a multitude of critical illnesses and other life-threatening conditions using evidenced-based, team-based care. The physician practices in the ICU model in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of intensivists, nurses and allied professionals.Responsibilities
*Provide direct care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including management of mechanical ventilation, shock, and multi-organ failure.
*Perform critical care procedures such as intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion and thoracentesis.
*Manage ventilators and advanced life support modalities.
*Participate in ICU coverage rotation at night to include weekends and holidays as required by the service model.
*Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and subspecialists to optimize patient outcomes.
*Document clearly, accurately, and promptly in the EHR.
*Provide excellent patient experience with clear communication of the treatment plans and medications.
*Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication in high-acuity, team-based environments.
*Support quality improvement efforts related to ICU protocols, safety and outcomes.
Requirements
*Medical Degree (MD, DO) from an accredited institution
*Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship in Critical Care Medicine.
*Board certified or eligible in Critical Care Medicine.
*Credentialed in Pulmonary and critical care medicine by the applicable hospital(s)
*Eligible for an unrestricted Washington State medical license
*DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
*Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Deaconess is home to a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It is the only hospital in the area with national accreditation in bariatric surgery. Deaconess provides high-quality inpatient, outpatient, surgical, diagnostic and emergency services.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $268.85 - $268.85 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
