Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) is an excellent opportunity at MultiCare to support our Imaging Services. In this role, you may assist with patient registration and order entry, prior imaging retrieval and preparation and scheduling assistance. We look for individuals who embody MHS's values and focus on establishing collaborative relationships with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction. You ensure superior customer experience by identifying and resolving patient needs related to patient intake and care including greeting and checking-in patients, as well as verifying information supplied by patients.

Essential Functions

  • Greets incoming customers in a professional manner to assess customer needs and ensures needs are met and customer service expectations exceeded.

  • Efficiently updates and verifies patient demographics, insurance, and contact information, and assists customers in completing necessary forms to meet regulatory and billing needs prior to receiving clinical care. Scans necessary paperwork and educates patient on financial assistance.

  • Thoughtfully directs patients on next steps and informs patient about delays and wait times.

  • Promptly schedules appointments

  • Proactively requests payments from patients on current and past medical services.

  • Receives and processes those payments following appropriate procedures.

  • Supports administrative function of the clinic.

  • Coordinates with other care teams and employees to provide a seamless experience for patients.

  • Completes training and pass-off requirements

Requirements

  • Six months of customer service experience

  • Demonstrated basic computer skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • One year of customer service experience, in a hospital or medical office preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.68 - $31.20 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
