**PRN POSITIONS REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 2 SHIFTS/MONTH**

General Description:

While enrolled in school, the Imaging Student performs imaging/radiologic services within the student scope of practice. This position provides students the opportunity to work in real-life situations while earning their degree.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities, with or without an accommodation, may result in disqualification from the position.

  • Under direct supervision from a preceptor, provider or instructor, gains exposure to multiple disciplines within Imaging such as x-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound and fluoroscopy.

  • Assists in performing diagnostic imaging services using techniques learned in school and within imaging department.

  • Prepares patients for testing with an emphasis on providing excellent patient experiences.

  • Ensures that equipment and testing spaces are clean, welcoming and free of clutter.

  • Learns how to transfer images and data to the appropriate electronic health system.

  • Assists with performing quality control checks, cleaning and disinfecting equipment per manufacturer standards.

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited imaging/radiology degree program as defined by ARDMS, ARRT, NMTCB and/or CCI.

Experience: No experience required.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required at hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Entry level knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

  • Entry level knowledge of imaging/radiology diagnostic procedures.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to follow HIPAA guidelines and standards.

  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others.

  • Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled.

  • Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
