This role is responsible for packaging chemicals by following applicable instructions and current standard operating procedures.

What You Will Do:

  • Review daily packaging schedules and ensures the materials required are available
  • Follow packaging instructions and accurately pack out the correct materials to the correct containers using pumps, hoses, meters, and scales.
  • Perform routine observation of product during the packaging process to ensure zero defect material quality. Report any out-of-spec material and consults with Quality personnel on any batch adjustments.
  • Properly cleans out all equipment when completed.
  • Proper housekeeping maintaining safe and clean workspace.
  • Operate fork trucks, palletizers, scales, pumps and other material handling equipment to transport finished product
  • Perform building and equipment preventative maintenance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Details:

  • Plant location: Chicago near Midway Airport
  • Work week and shift: Currently 12-hour shift (M-Th) Train on days, will move to nights.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a chemical or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with pumps, read meters, basic Quality Control data and to track packaging checklist and quality information (mix logs, batch adjustments, etc.)
  • Experience with performing basic Quality Control tests (take samples, perform pH tests)
  • Ability to read and match numbers on shipping records, labels, raw materials and finished goods
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Must be able to participate in respirator fitness, if required

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $28.10 - $42.15. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
