Additional Job Description: Orlando F. Gabriele Chair, Department of Radiology WVU School of Medicine West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine seeks a new Orlando F. Gabriele Chair of Radiology in collaboration with West Virginia University Hospitals/University Health Associates. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for a physician with a steadfast commitment to advancing radiology through excellence in clinical care, education, and research, and will be a pivotal contributor to the forward-thinking strategy for WVU Medicine and the Department of Radiology. Position Summary: The Department of Radiology at West Virginia University serves as the academic imaging enterprise for WVU Medicine, the state's flagship academic health system encompassing twenty-five hospitals and a rapidly expanding regional network across West Virginia and the surrounding Appalachian region. As part of the WVU School of Medicine, the Department provides comprehensive diagnostic and interventional imaging services while advancing the institution's missions of clinical care, education, and research. The Department plays a central role in supporting multidisciplinary care across the health system and serves as a major referral destination for complex imaging and image-guided procedures throughout West Virginia, Western Maryland, Western Pennsylvania, and Southeastern Ohio. The Orlando F. Gabriele Chair of the Department of Radiology is responsible for the provision of imaging services in conjunction with a strong commitment to undergraduate, pre-doctoral, graduate, and interdisciplinary health sciences education. This includes ensuring the highest quality of care and service, consistency in the standard of practice, maintaining excellence across the educational spectrum, and enabling scholarly advances in the field. He/she facilitates an interdisciplinary approach to achieve excellence in clinical care, education, and research in an environment in which collaboration is valued and encouraged.
